From Blank Canvas to Boundless Creativity: My Artbook Journey"

Never did I imagine myself venturing into the realm of publishing, let alone curating an artbook showcasing my collection of artistic masterpieces.

     'Beyond Imagination', my first book                    publication 

"Beyond Imagination," my labour of love, embodies three years of unwavering dedication and perseverance amidst the tumult of the Covid-19 pandemic. The enforced solitude of lockdown became a canvas for my creativity, where I intricately wove my thoughts and imagination onto every page, painting, and drawing.

This 11"x 8.5" hardcover artbook boasts 40 pages adorned with approximately 80 pieces of my artwork, predominantly characterized by impressionism and abstract styles. Each stroke of the brush and every intricate detail serves as a testament to my inspiration, encapsulating the profound connection to nature, humanity, and the boundless realms of imagination.

The decision to embark on this publishing endeavor stemmed from my unwavering resolve to embrace new challenges, adhering to the age-old adage, "It's never too late to embark on a new adventure." Though not without its trials, I consider this endeavor a valuable learning experience, enriching my journey as a local artist.

Since the virtual art exhibition last year, I have diligently promoted my artwork through various social media channels and online platforms. I eagerly anticipate its growth, with half of the proceeds earmarked for charitable causes—a manifestation of my belief in the intrinsic fulfillment of self-actualization, as espoused by Maslow's Hierarchy.

I am profoundly grateful for the unwavering support from my family and friends whose encouragement has been a constant source of strength throughout my artistic odyssey.

From the humble beginnings of a blank canvas to the vast expanse of social media, the AI era has offered me bountiful opportunities for learning and growth. Each day it presents me a new avenue for exploration and discovery, underscoring the invaluable role of AI in enriching our lives.

After delving into artwork, I've come to realize that life brims with vibrant and imaginative wonders. The more I explore, the more I uncover the boundless sea of knowledge that awaits. It's essential to maintain humility on the learning journey, as Confucius wisely noted, "There is always someone from whom you can learn among a group of people."

Prior to retirement, my focus was on educating thousands of students, largely leaning towards left-brain activities as a math teacher. However, post-retirement, I've immersed myself in artwork, tapping into the realm of the right brain. 

Through this journey, I've come to deeply understand that each person possesses unique talents, often overlooked. Once individuals discover their niche, they have the potential to soar and excel in their own lives.

I am thrilled to have successfully published my artbook, yet the most significant reward lies in the prolific insights gained throughout the journey.
