Education Is the Priority

Education must continue to be a national priority in ensuring the development of future generations.

Undeniably, educating the next generation is not an easy task. It is a shared responsibility that requires the collective effort of parents, teachers, and the government.

A clear and forward-looking master plan must be studied deeply and broadly, taking into account the rapid pace of global change. At the same time, education should be holistic in nature and not evaluated solely based on examination results.

                  Education is the priority

Beyond the acquisition of knowledge, our younger generation must be taught and constantly reminded of essential values such as good manners, humanity, morality, tolerance, humility, honesty, and empathy from a young age. These values form the foundation of strong character and responsible citizens.

Leaders, parents, and teachers play a crucial role as role models. They must lead by example and show the way in shaping the character of future generations.

It is dangerous to nurture intellectually brilliant individuals who lack empathy and are driven by arrogance.

Education does not take place only in classrooms. It can be nurtured anywhere and at any time such as helping a visually impaired person cross the road, showing compassion by donating to disaster victims, practising mutual respect in a diverse society, and obeying rules and laws are all powerful forms of learning.

To achieve meaningful and lifelong education, parents serve as the first educators, teachers as mentors and guides, and the government as the most powerful implementer of policies and systems.

The leaders of a nation ultimately determine its destiny. Today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders. 

Therefore, all leaders must fully comprehend the critical importance of education in shaping a progressive, compassionate, and sustainable future.

Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”. 

It is hoped that leaders across the globe will remember that the most powerful weapon is education, neither arrogance nor  ignorance.
